Obverse design: The King, crowned and robed, seated under a canopy holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, with two leopards seated either side of the throne. Hence the name of this coin - a ‘Double Leopard’
Obverse legend: EDWR D GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC DNS HIB (‘Edward by the Grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland’)
Reverse design: Tressure of four curves with a beaded interior foliated at each angle, containing a small crown with quatrefoil and foliated ends, and quatrefoil in the centre
Reverse legend: IHC TRANSIENS PER MEDIUM ILLORUM IBAT (‘But Jesus passing through their midst went His way’)
Minting quality: Proof - the highest quality possible
