Sir Winston Churchill Remembered

The London Mint Office is proud to honour the life and legacy of Sir Winston Churchill with the United Kingdom’s first coin and polymer banknote set.

The set comprimises of;

  • An uncirculated 2016 Churchill £5 banknote
  • An original 1965 Churchill crown
  • A copy of Churchill’s first speech as Prime Minister reproduced in gold
  • Stamped envelope, postmarked on the day the new £5 note was issued into circulation.
  • Presentation folder
  • Certificate of Authenticity

'Sir Winston Churchill Remembered' includes the original 1965 Churchill crown; the first to feature a non-royal effigy. Joining this numismatic treasure is the first UK polymer banknote to be issued by the Bank of England which, fittingly, also commemorates the man famously voted the greatest Briton of all time in a nationwide poll in 2002.

The set includes a copy of the first speech that Churchill made as Prime Minister in the House of Commons, on 13th May 1940. During his wartime speech, which is referenced on the new banknote, Churchill famously pledged that "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat”. He went on to declare that the country’s aim was “victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however, long and hard the road may be.” Given the vital importance of his morale boosting defiant declaration against the tyranny and oppression sweeping the world, Churchill’s famous words are reproduced in gold and displayed alongside the crown and banknote in a presentation folder with a certificate of authenticity.

In addition, the first 1,000 sets will be stamped and postmarked with the day that the new Churchill £5 note was released and the nation’s money changed forever, September 13th 2016.

Act now to secure your strictly limited edition postmarked set and preserve this special moment in British history forever.

I would like to order my own first UK Churchill coin and polymer banknote set for just £99.95.
