A truly fitting tribute to our longest and oldest reigning monarch
This unique collection celebrates the most significant landmark moments during Her Majesty’s life and reign. The first coin, ‘God Save Our Gracious Queen’, is inspired by one of the earliest official photographs of the Queen and depicts an infant Princess Elizabeth with her doting mother, The Duchess of York. A flowing ribbon accented in pure 24 carat gold bears the words ‘God Save Our Gracious Queen’, the opening line to the National Anthem, providing a fitting tribute to the little princess who would go on to become Britain’s longest reigning monarch.
Each coin in this set expertly links significant moments in Her Majesty’s life, to a stirring line from our National Anthem. From her birth in 1926; accession in 1952; through to Her Majesty becoming our oldest reigning monarch in 2016, each moment is portrayed through a series of beautifully sculpted portraits. Only when placed together as a set can the true beauty of this collection, however, be fully appreciated, as the words of our National Anthem shine through on a flowing ribbon accented in pure 24 Carat Gold.
Featuring the new 90th birthday portrait of Her Majesty The Queen
Struck in Sterling Silver, the traditional purity reserved for official crowns, the obverse of each coin features the official 90th birthday portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by the esteemed sculptor Raphael Maklouf, whose first effigy of The Queen appeared on all UK circulating coins between 1985 and 1997. This new portrait depicts a relaxed looking Queen; a smile playing about her lips, deservedly content after nine decades gloriously accomplished.

God Save Our Gracious Queen: The birth of a princess
The first coin in the collection is inspired by one of the earliest official photographs of the Queen, and depicts an infant Princess Elizabeth with her doting mother, The Duchess of York. A flowing ribbon accented in pure 24 carat gold bears the words ‘God Save Our Gracious Queen’, the opening line to the National Anthem, providing a fitting tribute to the little princess who would go on to become Britain’s longest reigning monarch.
Long Live Our Noble Queen: The Queen’s Accession
The design of the second coin in the collection has been chosen to represent the young Princess Elizabeth succeeding her father and becoming Queen Elizabeth II. It includes a dual portrait of Elizabeth and her beloved father, King George VI, while the 24 carat gold ribbon bears the words ‘Long Live Our Noble Queen’, the second line of the National Anthem.
God Save the Queen: The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
The third coin in the collection represents Her Majesty’s Coronation on June 2nd 1953. It features the Crown of St Edward, one of the oldest Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom and the centrepiece of the coronation regalia, together with a particularly appropriate inscription of ‘God Save the Queen!” which echoed around Westminster Abbey as the congregation erupted in joyful unison.
Send Her Victorious: Head of State and Commonwealth
Chosen to signify Her Majesty as the new Head of State and the Commonwealth, the ornate design on the fourth coin features the 14th century Coronation Chair in Westminster Abbey, upon which the Queen was crowned. The chair is surmounted by a gilt crown symbolising its exclusive use for the monarch. The coin carries the inscription ‘Send Her Victorious’, a request to God to ‘send her to reign over us’.
Happy and Glorious: Jubilee Monarch
The fifth coin in the collection features the Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II, surmounted by St Edward’s Crown. Beneath this sits the palm branch; a symbol of victory, triumph, peace and eternal life. The inscription ‘Happy and Glorious’ flows across the coin upon a gold ribbon, and is a fitting tribute to a much-loved monarch who recently celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, the first to do so since Queen Victoria in 1897.
Long to Reign Over Us: Longest Reigning Monarch
The sixth coin in the collection features portraits of the three longest serving monarchs in British history; Elizabeth II, George III and Queen Victoria. The design, together with the sixth line of the national anthem, “Long to Reign Over Us” were chosen to represent Her Majesty surpassing the 63 year reign of her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, which she achieved on September 9th, 2015.
God Save the Queen: Oldest Reigning Monarch
The seventh and final coin in this beautiful commemorative collection has been meticulously designed to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. The reverse design incorporates the national flowers of Scotland (thistle), Wales (leek), Ireland (shamrock) and England (Tudor Rose). Centred within the Tudor rose is the number 90. The flowing gold ribbon includes the final line of the national anthem; “God Save the Queen”, a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s position as our oldest and longest reigning monarch.
