 Coronation 65th Anniversary Sovereign

June 2nd 2018 marked the 65th anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation, a remarkable event that we may never again experience in our lifetimes!

On that memorable day, The Queen made an oath to govern the people, uphold law, justice and to maintain and preserve the Church of England. While this was made in front of family, world leaders and peers of the land, most importantly for Her Majesty, it was an oath made before God.

The Coronation 65th Anniversary Sovereign was struck on the day of the anniversary, 02.06.2018, and to the highest Proof quality in 22-carat Gold. The coin depicts the official 90th birthday portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by renowned British and Commonwealth coin designer Raphael Maklouf on the coin’s obverse. The reverse proudly depicts the official Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, featuring The Queen’s motto ‘dieu et mon droit’ – God and my Right.

 The 2018 Royal Wedding Sovereign

In May, millions of people around the world tuned in to watch His Royal Highness Prince Harry marry his beautiful bride Meghan Markle in a star-studded ceremony. Thousands of people lined the streets of Windsor in the warm spring sunshine to cheer the happy couple.

The 2018 Royal Wedding Sovereign’s design features a conjoined portrait of the newly titled Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The bottom of the coin features peonies – Meghan’s favourite flower, which is also a symbol of wealth and romance, along with daffodils – the national flower of Wales to denote Harry’s position as the son of the Prince of Wales, and roses – the symbol of love and marriage. Atop of the coin are the couple’s initials, while the edge of the coin is inscribed with their names and the date of marriage. The coin’s obverse features Raphael Maklouf’s stunning 2016 portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The coin is an extremely limited issue to ensure that it is highly collectible. With just 250 struck on the day of the wedding these coins will be extremely sought after by collectors.

The 2018 Royal Christening Sovereign

The official announcement that a son had been born to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was made at 11.01AM on 23rd April 2018. He made his first public appearance seven hours later outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital and four days later his parents announced that his name would be Louis Arthur Charles.

Like his older siblings, Prince Louis’ christening has been held approximately two months after his birth at the Chapel Royal in Saint James’ Palace. The private chapel is a favoured venue for Royal christenings. Prince Louis’ brother Prince George was christened there in 2013 and earlier this year his aunt Meghan Markle was baptized and confirmed into the Church of England in a private ceremony there ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry.

The 2018 Royal Christening Sovereign’s design depicts the conjoined Coat of Arms of Prince Louis’ parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Created by acclaimed coin designer and heraldic expert Bishop Gregory Cameron, the coin has been struck with the date of the ceremony and is the first ever Sovereign to bear the name of the new Prince. Once again the coin’s obverse features Raphael Maklouf’s stunning 2016 portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed to mark Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
