Each year on Remembrance Day, thousands of people across the nation gather at their local cenotaph to pay their respects to our fallen soldiers, laying wreaths in their honour, and standing in silent gratitude for the heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for Queen and Country.
This year, the Remembrance ceremony on the 11th of November was poignantly different. For 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II led the nation in remembering the fallen as she publicly showed her gratitude for her fellow veterans and those who gave their lives in her name. This year, her presence was felt more movingly than ever.
This historic coin has been released as a limited edition Philatelic Numismatic Cover which houses the coin within a special stamped envelope bearing the postmark of 11.11.22. The envelope cover also bears the signature of distinguished Falklands War veteran, Simon Weston CBE.
