The 'Our New King: 1 Year On' Proof Quarter Sovereign

This solid 22-carat gold quarter sovereign is struck to stunning Proof quality and bears a one-year-only design marking one year on from the passing of the crown from our former Queen Elizabeth II to her son, King Charles III.

The reverse design depicts the clockface of Big Ben showing 3:10 pm (the time that Queen Elizabeth II passed away and His Majesty King Charles III officially became Britain’s new monarch). The reverse also features the final coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II overlaying the design from the bottom centre, to pay homage to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

A lot can happen in a year. Since the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, Britain’s new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III has had a year of many firsts - whilst paying tribute to his late mother on many different occasions.
