On the 8th of September 2022, Buckingham Palace announced that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle. The gates of Buckingham Palace border the historic image, symbolic of the central role the palace has played in Her Majesty’s life. At the bottom of the coin we see a ribbon featuring the inscription ‘DEVOTED TO YOUR SERVICE’, and finally, a bouquet of flowers of the nation completes the design.
